Tenant Improvements to Hangar.
Garrett Aviation operates out of the Santa Barbara Airport. Their primary business is converting 737’s into executive jets. Complete with media centers, conference rooms, lavatory and bedrooms, the jets are designed to meet an executive’s needs.
19six designed and managed the extensive “fast-track” renovation of the 38-year old structure to house Garrett Aviation’s business and manufacturing operations. The project involved tenant improvements to 44,000 sf of shop and office space in coordination with the rehabilitation of 80,000 sf of hangar space. The first floor includes manufacturing shops, restrooms, break area, offices and two airplane hangars.
The second level includes administrative and executive jet owner offices, interior design and engineering spaces, and a lobby. Each office on the second level was designed with a view overlooking the hangar space below. A sophisticated fire sprinkler system was designed to allow for dramatic views of the aircraft from these offices. Skylights were added to the engineering area on the second level to provide significant energy savings and quality lighting to this high class hangar.
